New lump-sum death benefit from the Avanea Pension Fund: immediate support in the event of bereavement

We are pleased to announce an important change to the Avanea Pension Fund: With immediate effect, a fixed lump-sum death benefit of CHF 10,000 will be paid to the surviving dependants of our insured members. This lump sum is intended to be made available quickly and easily to cover the costs of the funeral and other immediate expenses.

What does the lump-sum death benefit include?

In the event of the death of an insured person, a fixed amount of CHF 10,000 is paid out. This lump sum is intended to help the surviving dependants alleviate the financial burden in the difficult period immediately after the loss.

Important details:

  • Fixed amount of CHF 10,000: Irrespective of other benefits, this amount is provided as emergency aid.
  • Fast payout: Our aim is to make the payout as fast and unbureaucratic as possible so that the surviving dependants have immediate access to the necessary funds.
  • Supplementary pension plans: Your employer’s pension plan may provide for a higher lump-sum death benefit. In such cases, the amount will be adjusted and increased accordingly.

Why a lump-sum death benefit?

The loss of a loved one is one of the most difficult situations in life. Financial worries should not be the main concern at this time. With the lump-sum death benefit, we want to ensure that the immediate costs, such as the funeral, are covered so that the bereaved can concentrate on the essentials.
